Purpose

What this tool does

This tool prepares passport-style photos and application images by cropping and resizing to the exact dimensions required by government forms, exam portals, and application systems. The crop-to-fill mode ensures your photo fills the frame without distortion. It is preconfigured for 630 × 810 pixels. Processing happens entirely on your device — your image is decoded, resized, compressed, and prepared for download without being uploaded to any server.

Output

Supported formats and output

Upload JPG, PNG, or WebP. Choose JPG for broad form compatibility and smaller files, WebP where it is accepted, or PNG when transparency and lossless output matter more than an exact KB target.

The default output is JPG. Transparent areas are placed on the selected background color, which is white by default. The result card reports the actual pixel dimensions, format, and file size.

Before uploading

Common limitations

Cropping to a different aspect ratio removes edge content, while stretching can distort the subject. Crop-to-fill is recommended when the image must fill the frame; contain preserves the whole image and adds transparent or background-colored space when the proportions differ.

Very large photos can exceed a phone's available memory. If processing fails, try a smaller source image. PNG cannot be compressed by changing quality like JPG or WebP.

Privacy

Private browser processing

Your selected image is decoded, resized, compressed, and downloaded locally in your browser. Normal tool operation does not upload the image or its original filename to our server. The processed result stays on your device until you choose to save or share it.

Practical guidance

Passport Seva online 630×810 photo guidelines and specifications

Passport Seva guidelines mandate a 630 × 810 pixel photograph with a pure white background for online passport application submission. The face should occupy between 70% and 80% of the photograph, with both ears and shoulders visible and a neutral facial expression. Our tool frames your portrait to 630 × 810 pixels and ensures the JPEG file complies with Passport Seva's online upload checker.

Frequently asked questions

What result does Indian Passport Photo Resizer 630×810 Online create?

It is preconfigured for 630 × 810 pixels. The result card shows the actual dimensions, format, and KB size before download so you can verify it meets your form requirements.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Normal image processing runs entirely in your browser using your device's CPU. The downloaded file stays on your device. No image data is transmitted to our server.

Why might the requested KB size be impossible?

Detailed images, large dimensions, format overhead, and the minimum quality boundary can prevent a smaller file. Try smaller dimensions, a larger limit, or switch from PNG to JPG or WebP which support quality-based compression.

Can I use this on my phone?

Yes. PhotoResizer is designed mobile-first and works on any modern smartphone browser. All controls have minimum touch target sizes and the interface adapts to small screens.
